Mineral deposit, exploration and environmental geology (base metals, gold and gemstones) in more than 30 countries, covering operations at more than 110 mines and major prospects worldwide. Special expertise in Tethyan areas - Turkey, Georgia, Pakistan. Located new areas of mineralisation in northern Pakistan, Turkey and UK, as well as successful orientation studies. Integrated geochemistry into GIS studies in exploration and environmental studies.
Course Director MSc in Mineral Exploration, 1997-2001. Supervised 8 PhD and 2 MPhil studies.

Sampling, laboratory analysis, and interpretation: of soils, stream sediments, waters and rocks. Demonstrated usefulness of hydride generation/ICP-ES to As, Sb, Bi, Se, Te analysis for mineral exploration.
1976-1979 Geologist Esso Minerals Africa Inc, Sandton and Beaufort West, South Africa
Prospect generation and evaluation of sandstone uranium deposits. Exploration geologist, Karoo Uranium – key role in three discoveries, including Rystkuil - largest discovery in main Karoo Basin to date (~20,000 t U3O8). Responsible for organising large scale drilling program, logging and interpretation of grade and geological controls on mineralization.

Research on uranium deposits – Karoo and NW Cape, South Africa. Follow up of airborne geophysics for sandstone and calcrete uranium. Investigation of petrography and geochemistry.
