Profile
Miss Mengjie Jiang
Postgraduate
Area of research:
The key aim of my study is to establish a detailed history of european palaeogeographic and palaeoenvironmental evolution during the early Jurassic, including the reconstruction pf hiterland uplift, weathering regime, sea-level change and relate these factors to major changes occurring in the Earth system at the time.
In order to achieve this aim, extended datasets for the evolution of sedimentary rock parameters such as texture and mineralogical composition will be generated for key sedimentary successions. The focus will be particularly on the determination of the sources of clay-sized and silt-sized sedimentary particles as provenance markers.
